PeaceEarth is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with an international scope and reach, founded by Forest Whitaker, to help societies affected by conflicts and violence transform into safe and productive communities.
Our Vision
Peace is more than the absence of war. It is a state of mind, a set of attitudes. Above all, it is about making the choice to respect each other’s dignity and identity.
We believe that even when faced with overwhelming adversity, young men and women can rise to the challenge of creating safer and more peaceful communities worldwide. We envision a world where global citizens are empowered to use peaceful conflict resolution as the first and last weapon at their disposal.
Our Mission
PeaceEarth is dedicated to peace- building and community empowerment in areas of conflict everywhere. We focus on empowering and inspiring youth, women, and global citizens to promote peace across the planet — from Uganda to south central Los Angeles.
We support and sustain our peace initiatives with conflict-resolution training programs and methodology, grassroots efforts, access to experts, social media, technology, content, and 21st century communication tools.
Our Objectives
To cultivate a new generation of peacebuilders through youth empowerment and training in conflict resolution.
To deliver resources which facilitate the rehabilitation and transformation of conflict-affected communities in the short and the long terms.
To promote the message of peace globally through education, popular culture, connectivity, and media.
